Rae Vogeler is a working mother, community activist
and peace organizer. She is challenging Democrat
Herb Kohl for the US Senate, specifically his
continued support for Bushs War, his endorsement
of the Iran Freedom Support Act, the USA Patriot
Act, and other bills and votes that are out of
line with the typical Wisconsin resident. Since
launching her campaign last September, people
across the state have been growing excited about
the prospect of a progressive candidate for US
Senate on the ballot in November.
Read: Why
Im running for US Senate as a Green and not
a Democrat, and check out her
website.
We hope you can come
out and meet Rae Vogeler, a true progressive that
can win in November with your help!.

Diebold TSx Touch Screen Machines
- the LWGP opposes the implementation of these Diebold
TSx Touch Screen voting machines in Winnebago County,
which was recently approved by the municipal clerks
and the Winnebago Co. Board. We have spoken up at
every Board meeting regarding these machines, and
have demonstrated in front of the court house. We
believe that these specific machines threaten our
elective process in Winnebago Co. due to their proven
security weaknesses as reported in the media, by
election experts, and by their track record in elections
this year. We urge citizens to avoid using these
machines if at all possible to ensure casting a
ballot that can be counted and recounted.
"Troops Home Now" Referendum
- Oshkosh / Fond du Lac Although Fond du Lac has
called off its attempt to put a referendum on the
November Ballot calling for all troops in Iraq to
be withdrawn, the potential still exists in Oshkosh.
August 3 is the deadline for submitting signatures,
and a half-dozen folks are already collecting signatures.
The LWGP supports the referendum drive, but is not
fully committed due to the tight time frame and
questionable commitment from others to collect the
needed signatures (over 3,000). Activists will be
collecting signatures at Waterfest on Thursday June
29th, and at Sawdust Days June 30 - July 3. Contact
lwgp@wisconsingreenparty.org to help.
County Board Size - the LWGP
unequivocably opposes reducing the size of the the
Winnebago Co. Board and all County Board sizes in
our area. Smaller county boards reduce the level
of direct democracy in our communities, and increases
the likelyhood that Big Money can buy our Board.
Wisconsin Green Party Candidates!
- The Wisconsin Green Party is running candidates
for 4 of 5 statewide constitutional offices, as
well as US Senate, 2 House seats, and currently
3 state legislative seats! Please support the candidates
in any way possible, from volunteering to merely
donating a little spare change. All of these candidates
are fighting for you, the average citizen, and fighting
against Big Money, Lobbyists, Corporate America,
and the entrenched two-party system. They will defend
grassroots democracy, oppose the war, fight for
clean air and water, and defend the rights of every
citizen. The Green Party stands for you.
